Wanda L. Royer

Wanda Louise Royer (Kirkham), 73, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to her.

Wanda was born on September 3, 1952, to Earl and Opal Kirkham. Throughout her life, family was always at the center of her heart. She was a loving mother to her son, Tim Royer, and a loving mother-in-law to Sue Royer. One of Wanda’s greatest joys was being a grandmother to Isabel Royer, Olivia Royer, and Eliana Royer. She was incredibly proud of her son and daughter-in-law, but there was something especially meaningful to her about being Grandma. Her grandchildren brought tremendous happiness to her life, and she was very proud of each of them.

Wanda is survived by her son, Tim Royer; daughter-in-law, Sue Royer; her beloved grandchildren, Isabel, Olivia, and Eliana Royer; her sister, Linda Monson; and her nieces and nephews, John Kirkham, Robin Wagoner, and Ryan Kirkham, along with other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Opal Kirkham; her brother, John Kirkham; her niece, Sherri Wilkinson, daughter of Linda Monson; and her four half-brothers.

Those who knew Wanda will remember a fun-loving and caring woman who loved her family deeply. She had a special place in her heart for animals and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Give Wanda a Pepsi and a Hershey’s chocolate bar, and she was happy. She enjoyed working on puzzles, going fishing, spending time with the people she loved, and making memories with her family. Wanda also wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. You usually knew exactly what she was thinking, but even when she had something to say, it came from a place of caring and wanting the best for the people she loved. That honesty was simply part of who Wanda was, and those closest to her wouldn’t have had her any other way. Wanda believed in God, and her faith remained an important part of her life.

In her final days, Wanda made sure her family and friends knew how she wanted to be remembered. Her message was simple: don’t be sad. Be happy, remember the good times, and celebrate her life. Those words reflected the fun-loving spirit she carried throughout her life and are something her family will hold close to their hearts.

Her family will miss her love, her personality, her laughter, her opinions, and all the little things that made Wanda simply Wanda. There will certainly be tears because she was so deeply loved, but we will honor her wishes by remembering the laughter, sharing the stories, and celebrating the life she lived and the memories she gave us.

A Celebration of Life for Wanda will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Lake Jacomo, Shelter 1. Family and friends are invited to join us as we honor Wanda the way she asked us to—not simply by mourning her passing, but by being together, sharing memories, laughing, and celebrating her life. Food and drinks will be provided.

Wanda was deeply loved, she will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on through the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
