Timothy E. Sterling

Timothy Eugene Sterling, 49, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Buckner Hill Cemetery.

Timothy was born on December 13, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Richard and Marie Sterling. Timothy enjoyed fishing and barbecuing and was a man of many trades, with a special talent for woodworking and working on cars. He was happiest when he was keeping busy and had an incredible ability to fix or create just about anything. Family and friends often said he could “MacGyver” anything.

He is survived by his four children: daughter Ashleigh Kehoe (Sam) of Emporia, Kansas; daughter Summer Sterling (Dominic Genari), of Grain Valley, Missouri; daughter Sammy Sterling of Grain Valley, Missouri; and son Mason Sterling of Normangee, Texas. He is also survived by two grandchildren; his mother, Marie McClay of Buckner, Missouri; his father, Richard Sterling (Laurie) of Parkville, Missouri; his aunt, Catherine Tinker of Kansas City, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Martha Tinker of Buckner, Missouri; his brother, Richard Sterling II of Blue Valley, Missouri; his sister, Tieka Fletcher (Izack) of Kansas City, Missouri; his brother, Jeremiah Mulford of Kansas City, Missouri; and his sister, Shannon Mulford of Parkville, Missouri.

Timothy will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, resourcefulness, and willingness to help others. His love for his family, his craftsmanship, and his ability to solve any problem will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
