Dane G. Pace

Dane Gregory Pace was born August 26, 1985, in Independence, Missouri to Mark M. and Jacqueline S. (Husong) Pace. He was raised in a Catholic Family filled with faith, love, and strong traditions. Dane attended St. Ann’s grade school and St. Mary’s high school where he graduated in 2003 with many friends and countless memories.

Dane had a passion for sports, having played basketball, baseball, and football for his school teams. During a 5th grade basketball game that his team had no chance of winning, he made his first three-pointer. He jumped up and down and pumped his fist because to him, it was the game-winning shot. He held the all-time leading sack record for the St. Mary’s High School football program which he was very proud of and would never let anyone forget. He was also a hometown sports fan. Being named after a 1985 Kansas City Royals World Series hero and having an uncompromising love for the Kansas City Chiefs, he was able to see both his teams win a championship and celebrate these wins with his family.

He began his working career at Certified Safety in Kansas City, Missouri the day after high school graduation. He later went on to specialize in HVAC and began his career as a maintenance technician at an Independence apartment complex, where he was highly admired by the community and many children were happy to see who they knew as “Uncle Dane.”

Dane was known for his quick wit, especially when coming up with his own lyrics to songs off the top of his head. He loved his pets and being at the lake. Dane was, above all else, a true family man, aways “making an appearance” at gatherings and always being “fashionably late”. He had a contagious smile and sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around him. He didn’t have to try hard to claim the title of being the favorite to many in his family. His siblings all had a special, one-of-a-kind relationship with him as he did with them, the kind of bond that only they share.

Dane’s love of family never faltered, yet it was not complete until the birth of his daughter, Giavanna. Although his time with her was short, Dane gave Giavanna his whole heart and a great amount of love to last a lifetime.

Dane passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Melvin “Pope” Pace; Granddad Eugene “Lefty” and Grandma Violet Husong. Dane leaves behind his daughter, Giavanna; Parents: Mark and Jackie Pace; Brothers: Dion Pace (Missy Morrison) and son Andrew; Ty Pace (Jessica) sons Hayden and Truman, daughter Payton; Trey Pace (Briana) son Trey II, daughters Nealeigh, Lainie, Alleigh; Sister: Jhana Pace (Garrett Summers) and son Patrick Summers; and Grandmother Beverly “GG Bev” Pace. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

May God give comfort and strength to those who loved him. We will cherish the love and memories we shared, and Dane will forever live in our hearts until we meet again.

Tuesday 9/29/26 12PM – Graveside Service at Mose Clark Cemetery, Climax Springs Mo
