First a foremost, Paul was man of Christian faith and a steadfast stalwart of Restoration Gospel. He was possessed of a keen and well-reasoned mind. His legal acumen was above reproach and he sought not to just counsel in the letter of the law but in the spirit of the law as well. He had a great sense of humor and was an outstanding observer of human nature – one quick to point the ironies which surround us. We will miss him intensly; however, we will hold fast for the glorius reunion which awaits. Godspeed, dear brother; Lynette, please know that we are keeping you and yours in our hearts and prayers.

Paul was born on September 5, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Shirley Davis. He spent his childhood in Independence and graduated from Truman High School. At age 16, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. Paul attended Central Missouri State University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication. He continued his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. Paul was admitted to the Missouri Bar on September 29, 1995, and practiced law in Missouri for 31 years. Throughout his career as an attorney, he positively affected the lives of thousands of individuals and families. In addition to providing legal counsel and representation, Paul offered hope and encouragement by sharing his faith and love for Christ. Paul was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at age eight and remained a devoted member throughout his life, most recently attending the South Crysler Restoration Branch. He was ordained to the priesthood office of Deacon in 1977, Priest in 1990, and Elder in 2001. Serving the Lord was Paul’s passion and primary calling in life. He formerly served as Presiding Elder of the South Crysler Restoration Branch, was a member of the Council of Elders, and delivered numerous sermons throughout his many years of ministry. He especially enjoyed visiting the homes of church members, connecting with families, and offering counsel, inspiration, and spiritual insight. Although illness prevented Paul from attending church during his final years, he remained steadfast in his faith and lifted the needs of others in prayer each day.
In 1997, Paul met the love of his life, Lynette Rene Gard. They were married September 26, 1998 in Buckner, Missouri. They were happily married for 27 years. Paul was deeply devoted to his family. He enjoyed taking long drives with his wife and children, singing bluegrass songs in the car and exploring new places together. He especially loved being in nature, whether walking, taking scenic routes, or simply admiring God’s creation. Known for his fun-loving nature, Paul rarely missed an opportunity to tell a joke, share a favorite story, or laugh with his family. He loved singing songs by Elvis Presley, as well as bluegrass gospel music and hymns, often accompanying himself on the guitar, banjo, or mandolin. Some of his happiest moments were spent with loved ones, tending the grill, playing board games, making music, and sharing laughter.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, John Davis; his brother, Jay Davis; and his great-nephew, Afton Jacks.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Davis; his wife, Lynette Davis; his children, Rachel Wood and Christian Davis (Madison), and his honorary daughter, Melody Joy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Davis, and Brothers-in-law Greg Gard (Jean), Jeff Gard (Pam), and Brad Gard (Melody).
